KEYSER — A couple is seeking damages, claiming a woman was caused to fall at a health care facility.
Robert D. and Joyce Helmick filed a complaint in Mineral Circuit Court against Keyser Center LLC and Stonerise Healthcare LLC, dba Piney Valley.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place Feb. 21, 2018, when the plaintiff was a patient on the defendants' property. The suit states the plaintiff was not properly cared for and was caused to fall, resulting in her fracturing her femur.
The defendant is accused of medical malpractice.
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Daniel Taylor of Dittmar, Taylor & Makricostas in Weirton.
The case has been assigned to Judge James Courrier Jr.
