World Wide Equipment accused of creating racially hostile work environment

CHARLESTON — A former employee alleges he was caused distress when members of his workplace treated him in a racially hostile manner.

Don Bennett filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Greg Mundell and World Wide Equipment of West Virginia Inc.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages because during his term of employment with the defendant, the defendant regularly made racially insensitive and hostile statements in front of the plaintiff and failed to follow the company's racial discrimination policy.

The defendant is accused of discrimination promoting a racially hostile work environment.

The plaintiff is seeking is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by DiTrapano Fairless of DiTrapano Law Firm in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Tod Kaufman.
