Transworld Systems' collection calls allegedly harassed consumer

FAYETTEVILLE – A woman alleges that her privacy was repeatedly invaded by a debt collection agency's telephone calls.

Rhonda Hayhurst filed a complaint in Fayette Circuit Court against Transworld Systems Inc. alleging violation of the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendant caused her phone to ring repeatedly with the intent to annoy, used fraudulent or misleading representations in an attempt to collect the alleged debt and attempted to collect by coercion.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Steven R. Broadwater Jr. and Ruperto Y. Dumapit of Hamilton, Burgess, Young & Pollard in Fayetteville.

The case has been assigned to Judge Paul M. Blake Jr.
