Nurse alleges age was factor in termination from Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital

MORGANTOWN – An Albright man alleges his age was a factor in his wrongful termination from a hospital.

Gregory P. Sawyers filed a complaint in Monongalia Circuit Court against Monongalia Health Systems Inc.., doing business as Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital, citing the West Virginia Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is older than 55 and began his employment with the defendant in May 2011 as a full-time registered nurse. He alleges on Sept. 7, 2018, he was wrongfully terminated and that the defendant falsely alleged he was discharged for a violation of company policy. He alleges his age was a factor in his termination.

The plaintiff is seeking punitive damages, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John Einreinhofer of the Law Offices of John Einreinhofer in Charleston.
