Woman claims she fell because of a defective sidewalk in Huntington

HUNTINGTON — A woman is suing the City of Huntington following a trip and fall, alleging she was injured on a defective sidewalk.

Amanda Adkins filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against the City of Huntington and John Doe, property owner.

The suit states the plaintiff was traveling on a sidewalk in Huntington City on Sept. 13, 2015 when the plaintiff was caused to trip and fall over a portion of ground that was uneven. Adkins alleges the defendant was negligent in failing to repair the portion of sidewalk that was uneven.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Matthew Stapleton of Stapleton Law Offices in Huntington.

The case has been assigned to Judge Alfred Ferguson.
