Couple alleges Lowe's negligent installation of refrigerator caused mold growth in home

CHARLESTON – A Charleston couple is suing Lowe's over claims that their property was damaged by the poor installation of a refrigerator.

Keith Fletcher and Joyce Fletcher filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Lowe's Home Center LLC alleging negligence.

The suit states that the plaintiffs purchased a refrigerator from Lowe's in May 2018. They allege the defendant delivered the refrigerator to their home and connected the ice maker but did so in a negligent manner, causing mold growth in their home.

The plaintiffs are seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs and trial by jury. The plaintiffs are represented by Thomas H. Payton of Peyton Law Firm in Nitro.

The case has been assigned to Judge Charles E. King.
