Patient says she suffered bone fractures from fall in CAMC emergency room

CHARLESTON — A woman is suing a hospital, alleging she was caused to fall in the emergency room.

Barbara Mays filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Charleston Area Medical Center Inc.

The suit states the plaintiff was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Hospital's emergency room on Jan. 20, 2018. The plaintiff alleges she was not properly cared for and was caused to fall, resulting in several bone fractures.

The defendant is accused of medical negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Arden Curry of Pauley Curry PLLC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Carrie Webster.
