US Methanol sues construction firm for allegedly building a faulty foundation

CHARLESTON — A methanol producer is suing a construction company, claiming breach of contract.

US Methanol LLC filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against CDI Corp. and Randall Chase.

The suit states the plaintiff entered into an agreement on Nov. 10, 2016 with the defendant to construct a foundation for a methanol plant in Institute. The defendant allegedly breached duties by failing to fulfill the services to the specification that was agreed upon.

The defendant is accused of negligence and breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Kenneth Webb Jr of Bowles Rice LLP in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Charles King.
