Women claim negligent corporate driver was speeding when he struck their vehicle

BECKLEY — Two women are suing a driver of a corporate vehicle who allegedly caused a car accident.

Barbara and Rebecca Utt filed a complaint in Raleigh Circuit Court against Ernest B. Davis Jr. and Beckley Buick-GMC Auto Mall Inc.

The suit states Barbara Utt was driving on March 24, 2018, when the defendant, driving in a vehicle provided to him by Beckley Buick-GMC Auto Mall, negligently was speeding and failed to stop in time and struck the plaintiff's vehicle, which caused the plaintiffs to be injured.

The defendant is accused of negligence and reckless driving.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Joshua Ferrell of Ferrell & Brown PLLC in Williamson.

The case has been assigned to Judge Dimlich.
