GRAFTON – A Bridgeport woman is suing a Fairmont roofing company alleging that it did an improper job on the installation of a new roof.

Amy Cunningham filed a complaint in Taylor Circuit Court against Mike Mabry, doing business as Mike's Home Solutions, alleging breach of contract, negligence and fraud.

The suit states that the plaintiff entered into a contract with the defendant to re-roof her home at 166 Seth Court, Bridgeport in September 2016. The suit states that plaintiff paid a down payment of $9,500 for the job and then a final payment of $9,000 for labor and materials.

The plaintiff alleges the roof had a number of leaks after the install was finished and Mabry attempted to repair it. She alleges an engineer later inspected the home on May 30, 2018, and found multiple issues with the roof, including improperly installed flashing, uneven shingles and nail punctures. She alleges the roof had to be replaced.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Brian R. Blickenstaff of Turner & Johns PLLC in Charleston.
