Woman seeks damages from Walmart, driver over collision in Beckley parking lot

BECKLEY – A Fayette County woman is suing Walmart Transportation and a Kentucky man over a collision in a parking lot of the retail store in Beckley.

Nancy Watson filed a complaint in Raleigh Circuit Court against Lawrence Freer and Walmart Transportation LLC alleging negligence.

The suit states that the plaintiff was operating her vehicle on May 9, 2017, in the parking lot of the Walmart in Beckley when the accident took place. The suit states Freer, who was driving a Walmart commercial truck, failed to maintain control of the truck and collided with the plaintiff's vehicle. The plaintiff alleges she suffered injuries as a result of the collisions.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Christen M. Justice in Slocumb Law Firm LLC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Robert Burnside Jr.
