Motorist seeks damages from another driver over Beckley rear-end collision

BECKLEY – A motorist is seeking damages from a North Carolina man and his employers over a rear-end collision in Beckley.

Jeffrey W. O'Neal filed a complaint in Raleigh Circuit Court against Johnathan P. Reed, Cook Out Inc., Advantage Truck Leasing Inc. and Advantage Truck Leasing LLC alleging negligence.

The suit states on May 4, 2017, the plaintiff was traveling southbound on North Eisenhower Driver near the intersection of Johnstown Road in Beckley. The suit states the plaintiff slowed and came to a stop, and Reed, who was operating a Freightliner M2, failed to yield and rear-ended the plaintiff's vehicle.

The suit states Reed was operating a vehicle owned by Cook Out Inc., Advantage Truck Leasing Inc. and Advantage Truck Leasing LLC.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Robert D. Cline Jr., Brian E. Bigelow and Benjamin Hatfield of Farmer, Cline & Campbell PLLC in Beckley.

The case has been assigned to Judge Andrew Dimlich.
