Consumer alleges Healthcare Revenue Recovery Group harassed her with collection calls

LOGAN – A Logan County woman alleges a debt collector has harassed her with phone calls about an alleged debt.

Tammy Allred filed a complaint in Logan Circuit Court against Healthcare Revenue Recovery Group citing the Collection Agency Act, the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act and other counts.

The plaintiff alleges that the defendant has contacted her via phone and letters in an attempt to collect the alleged debt and that the defendant "created false circumstances of an emergency" regarding its collection. She alleges sensitive, personal financial information unlawfully was disclosed in the calls and the alleged debt was published to individuals not involved. 

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Michael M. Cary of Cary Law Office PLLC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Joshua Butcher.
