Woman alleges grapevine on Huntington path caused fall, broken arm

HUNTINGTON – A Wayne woman is suing the City of Huntington over allegations a grapevine on a walking path caused her to fall and break her arm.

Tonia White filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against the City of Huntington alleging negligence.

The suit states that the plaintiff was walking on a path in Huntington on June 11, 2017, when her foot caught on a grapevine and caused her to fall. She alleges she broke her right forearm in the fall. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to properly remove the grapevine from the path and failed to warn of the hazard.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Donald R. Jarrell of the Law Offices of Donald R. Jarrell in Wayne.

The case has been assigned to Judge Gregory L. Howard Jr.
