Woman alleges officer sexually harassed her at Tygart Valley Regional Jail

CHARLESTON – A woman alleges that she was abused and sexually harassed by a female correctional officer while at a Belington facility.

Ashley Sipple filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against correctional officer Amber Lambert, the West Virginia Regional Jail and Correctional Facility Authority and John Doe citing the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

The plaintiff alleges she was sexually harassed, abused and exploited by Lambert at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail. The plaintiff alleges the West Virginia Regional Jail and Correctional Facility Authority breached its duty to properly hire, train, retain and supervise the individual defendants.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Michael A. Woelfel in Huntington.

The case has been assigned to Judge Joanna Tabit.
