North Carolina man alleges hole at High Lawn Memorial Park caused fall, injuries

FAYETTEVILLE – A North Carolina man is seeking damages for alleged injuries he sustained at an Oak Hill cemetery.

Joey J. Butner filed a complaint in Fayette Circuit Court against High Lawn Memorial Park Co. and High Lawn Funeral Chapel Inc. alleging negligence.

The suit states that on July 23, 2017, the plaintiff was visiting a grave site at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill when he fell into a hidden hole, causing injury.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to fix hidden dangers and failed to warn of them.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by S. Brooks West II and David A. Dobson of West Law Firm LC in South Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Paul M. Blake Jr.
