PRINCETON – A Mercer County father alleges his minor daughter was injured while riding a train at Bluefield City Park.

Larry Agnew Jr., father and next friend of A.A., a minor, filed a complaint in Mercer Circuit Court against the city of Bluefield alleging negligence.

The suit states that A.A., 13, was a passenger in a small recreational train that was operated by the defendant at the City Park on April 30, 2017. The suit states A.A.'s leg was injured by a gate when riding the train.

The plaintiff alleges that the defendant was negligent in its failure to warn patrons to keep limbs in the train car's interior and failed to keep the train's avenue free from nuisance.

The suit states A.A. incurred medical expenses of more than $57,000 as a result of her injuries.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Anthony R. Veneri of Veneri Law Offices in Princeton.

The case has been assigned to Judge William Sadler.
