PRINCETON – A McDowell County woman alleges a hospital breached its standard of care while she was a patient in 2016.
Anna Ruth Short filed a complaint in Mercer Circuit Court against Princeton Community Hospital Association Inc. alleging negligence.
The suit states that the plaintiff was a patient at PCH between Jan. 4, 2016, and Jan. 15, 2016, for transvaginal hysterectomy and other procedures. She alleges after the surgery, her condition declined. The suit states the plaintiff was taken back to the emergency room on Jan. 12, 2016, for evacuation of a pelvic hematoma. The plaintiff also alleges the defendant fell below the standard of care by not tracking her lack of bowel movements.
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Amanda J. Taylor and Stephen P. New of The Law Office of Stephen P. New in Beckley.
The case has been assigned to Judge Mark Wills.
