Customer blames torn meniscus on painted line at Sheetz station

HUNTINGTON – A Cabell County man alleges he was injured at a gas station in the county when he slipped on a painted line.

James C. Lawhon filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against Sheetz Inc. alleging negligence.

The suit states that the plaintiff was a guest at the defendant's premises at 18th Street West in Huntington on Jan. 4, 2018. He alleges he was walking from his vehicle and slipped on a recently painted parking line, causing him to over-extend his right knee and sustain a meniscus tear.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Charles F. Bellomy of Hardy Pence PLLC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Alfred Ferguson.
