Winfield driver seeks damages from two motorists over Charleston rear-end collision

CHARLESTON – A Winfield woman alleges the negligence of two drivers caused a collision in Charleston that caused her injury.

Whitney Burgroff filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Breanna Cantrell, Nancy Shaffer and Lease Plan USA Parts Co. alleging negligence.

The suit states that the plaintiff was driving in the 4900 Block of MacCorkle Ave. in Charleston on Dec. 18, 2017, when Shaffer rear-ended her vehicle. The suit states the Shaffer vehicle was rear-ended by Cantrell, who was operating a vehicle owned by Lease Plan USA Parts, and the Shaffer vehicle struck the plaintiff's vehicle a second time.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to be aware of their surroundings.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Jason J. Stemple of Duffield, Lovejoy, Stemple & Boggs PLLC in Huntington.

The case has been assigned to Judge Carrie Webster.
