Buyer alleges negligence of CKM Group caused water damage to home

PRINCETON – A Mercer County woman alleges water damage in her home was caused by the negligence of a general contractor.

Michelle Postle filed a complaint in Mercer Circuit Court against CKM Group LLC alleging negligence.

The suit states that the plaintiff purchased a Princeton property that was constructed by the defendant. The plaintiff alleges she noticed water intrusion in May 2017, which cost the plaintiff $30,000 to repair.

The plaintiff alleges that the defendant did not install the footer draining system, foundation and other aspects in compliance with building codes.

The plaintiff is seeking damages of $30,000, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by James R. Sheatsley of Gorman, Sheatsley & Co. LC in Beckley.

The case has been assigned to Judge Mark Wills.
