Woman alleges negligence of Manpower of WV employee caused ankle fracture

MORGANTOWN – A Morgantown company has been sued by a Tennessee woman seeking damages for ankle injuries sustained while loading garbage cans into one of its trucks.

Teresa Brown filed a complaint in Monongalia Circuit Court against Manpower of WV Inc. and Jane Doe alleging negligence.

The suit states at the time of the incident that is the subject of this complaint, the plaintiff resided in Mingo Junction, Ohio. The suit states on Oct. 6, 2018, the plaintiff was in the back of a truck bed loading garbage cans after a West Virginia University football game under Doe's direction. The suit states defendant Doe, who was employed by Manpower, suddenly put the vehicle in motion while the plaintiff was standing, causing the plaintiff to "fly into the air" and land on her right ankle, resulting in an ankle fracture and other injuries.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Eric Chaffin of Chaffin Luhana LLP in Weirton.
