Lawsuits

MOUNDSVILLE – A Wheeling man is suing a tractor-trailer driver and his employer over a collision in Marshall County he alleges he couldn't avoid.

Justin J. Justice filed a complaint in Marshall Circuit Court against Halliburton Energy Services Inc. and Dennis Maxwell Jones alleging negligence and other counts.

The suit states that the plaintiff was driving his 2000 Ford S-10 truck on County Route 21 on March 18 when he struck the tractor-trailer operated by Jones, who is employed by Halliburton Energy Services. The plaintiff alleges Jones was driving southbound on the same road and tried to curve his tractor-trailer but was unable to perform the maneuver properly, causing the majority of the vehicle to cross into the opposing lane of traffic and block it. The plaintiff alleges he was unable to avoid the collision.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Taylor D. Potts of Gold, Khourey & Turak LC in Moundsville.

The case has been assigned to Judge Jeffrey Cramer.
