PINEVILLE – A Pageton corporation and a Chicago-based company are alleged to have failed to remit proceeds to a Wyoming County agency from timber harvesting.

Wyoming County Economic Development Authority filed a complaint in Wyoming Circuit Court against High Country Mining Inc.; Grimstone Mining LLC; and Jack Griffin, doing business as Griffin Timber; and the defendant's unknown creditors seeking declaratory relief.

The suit states that the plaintiff has rights to one-half of net profits from the sale of any timber located on certain acreage in the county conveyed to High Country Mining and Grimstone Mining. The suit states High Country and Grimstone entered into a timber contract with Griffen in November 2018 and failed to remit proceeds to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Anna R. Ziegler of Ziegler and Ziegler LC in Hinton.
