MOUNDSVILLE – A Moundsville woman is suing her insurance company, alleging her policies were not honored following an accident that rendered her disabled.

Debra Sue Lighter filed a complaint in Marshall Circuit Court against Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston and Lincoln National Corp., doing business as Lincoln Financial Group, seeking declaratory judgment and other counts.

The suit states that the plaintiff was involved in a car accident on Feb. 22, 2017, on Interstate 70 due to the negligence of another driver and was injured. The plaintiff alleges she had policies with Liberty and sought but was denied long-term disability coverage benefits with it in October 2017 because of the injuries she sustained in the collision.

The plaintiff is seeking a trail by jury, all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Michelle Marinacci of Gold, Khourey & Turak LC in Moundsville.

The case has been assigned to Judge David Hummel.
