Client alleges Valley Grove contractor failed to complete project, employee took items

MOUNDSVILLE – A Benwood woman is suing a Valley Grove contractor over allegations that it failed to complete contracted work and that one of its employees removed items from her home.

Julie Powell filed a complaint in Marshall Circuit Court against Lloyd Klages LLC alleging breach of contract and other counts.

The suit states that the plaintiff contacted the defendant to renovate her property in Benwood. The plaintiff alleges she accepted the proposal on July 31, 2017, and noticed on April 27, 2018, that there were a number of items missing from her residence. She alleges she contacted the defendant and the police. 

Additionally, the plaintiff also alleges that the defendant completed the work in a poor fashion and failing to complete the job. The plaintiff alleges she had to hire another contractor for $3,720 to complete the installation of the furnace.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Adam E. Barney of Berry, Kessler, Crutchfield, Taylor & Gordon in Moundsville.

The case has been assigned to Judge David Hummel Jr.
