CHARLESTON — A woman is suing a hotel group, alleging she was bitten by bugs during her stay.
Robin Schoolcraft filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham; Microtel Inns and Suites Franchising Inc.; Gary Wilfong; Wilfong Hospitality IIC LLC; Wilfong Hospitality II LLC c/o Advantage Hospitality Group; Christopher Chesebrough; and Advantage Hospitality Group.
The suit states the plaintiff woke up on June 21, 2017 while a guest at the defendant's property with papules on her body. The plaintiff noticed the number of papules increased and began to itch and become inflamed. The plaintiff had to miss work on June 23, 2017 and it was allegedly determined that the cause of the bites was due to bugs at the hotel and the defendant's failure to operate and maintain a clean hotel.
The defendant is accused of negligence.
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Troy Giatras of The Giatras Law Firm in Charleston.
The case has been assigned to Judge Tod Kaufman.
