CHARLESTON — A man is suing 21st Century Centennial Insurance Company for a car accident.

Larry Scott Young, individually and on behalf of minor Sydney Young, filed the lawsuit against the insurance company alleging the company refused to pay on the policy for underinsured motorist benefits, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

The plaintiff claims he and his minor child were involved in an accident on June 25, 2016, in Shelby, N.C., and the damages were substantially more than the liability insurance coverage afforded by the owner of the vehicle that struck him.

The complaint alleges the defendant refused to pay any amount for the claims for underinsured motorists benefits under the policy and caused Larry Young damages.

The plaintiff is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is represented by M. Andrew Brison and Brittany T. Harden of Anspach Meeks Ellenberger in Charleston.
