CHARLESTON — An employee is suing Carl Walker Construction and others after he was injured on the job.

Patrick Ryan Adkins was working on a project through Carl Walker Construction and Walker Parking Consultants/Engineers Inc. at Charleston Area Medical Center on July 26, 2017, when one or more joists supporting the plywood platform failed and collapsed, causing Adkins and another worker to fall several feet with the plywood and concrete, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Adkins claims he suffered severe injuries due to the defendants' alleged reckless and negligent conduct.

Adkins is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is represented by D. Blake Carter Jr. and David A. Bosak of Bailey Javins & Carter.
