Couple sues Family Dollar over alleged slip and fall injuries

MOUNDSVILLE – A Moundsville couple is seeking damages from the operators of a Family Dollar store after the wife was injured in a fall.

Tosha D. Kuri and John Kuri filed the lawsuit against Family Dollar Stores of West Virginia, Dollar Tree Stores Inc. and John Doe after Tosha Kuri fell at the defendants' Family Dollar store in Moundsville on Aug. 5, 2017, according to a complaint filed in Marshall Circuit Court.

The couple alleges there was a clear liquid substance on the floor that caused the fall and that the defendants were aware of it and failed to fix the problem.

The couple is seeking compensatory and general damages. They are represented by James A. Villanova and Michael E. Metro of Villanova Law Offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jeffrey Cramer.
