South Carolina woman sued by Ohio driver over Huntington collision

HUNTINGTON – An Ohio man is suing a South Carolina driver over a collision that occurred in Huntington. 

Dewey Edward Bias filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against Ashley Gabrielle Burgess and Safeco Insurance Co. alleging negligence and breach of contract.

The suit states that the plaintiff and Burgess were both driving on Fifth Avenue in Huntington on July 29, 2017, when the defendant turned left and struck the right side of the plaintiff's vehicle. The plaintiff alleges he was injured in the collision.

The plaintiff also alleges that the liability insurance issued by Safeco for his vehicle did not provide adequate coverage for his claims.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by J. Roger Smith II of the Law Offices of J. Roger Smith II in Huntington.

The case has been assigned to Judge Christopher Chiles.
