Pedestrian sues city of Keyser over injuries from fall in uncovered manhole

KEYSER – A Burlington woman is suing the city of Keyser alleging that she fell into a manhole and was injured.

Acacia Doman filed a complaint in Mineral Circuit Court against the city of Keyser Inc. alleging negligence.

The suit states that the plaintiff was walking on a Keyser city sidewalk on May 12, 2017, when she fell into an uncovered manhole or grate, resulting in injuries to the plaintiff. She alleges the city failed to warn her of the hazard and breached its duty to maintain the premises in a safe and reasonable condition.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Lawrence E. Sherman Jr. in Romney.
