CHARLESTON — A woman is suing the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources after she claims it failed to help her with her gas bill.
Danielle C. Jarrett was also named as a defendant in the suit
Sheila Cunningham claims she went to the DHHR on June 14 seeking help with a gas bill and she was told that they would pay the bill, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Cunningham claims the following month, when she called to get on the budget plan at the gas company, she was informed they had not received a check. When she caled on July 14, she was informed the DHHR would only pay $78 toward her $315 bill, according to the suit.
Cunningham claims she did not receive a notice or paperwork.
