BECKLEY — The parents of a minor child are suing Bullfrogs & Butterflies Day Care Inc., claiming their child was injured at the facility.

Jennifer Eagle and Tony Owens filed the lawsuit on behalf of their child, Linkyn Eagle Owens, claiming the daycare breached its duty of care and was negligent, causing the child to sustain injuries, according to the complaint filed in Raleigh Circuit Court.

Linkyn Owens was in the daycare's care when she was injured on Nov. 27, 2018, which required her to be taken to the emergency room, her pediatrician, and be seen by a doctor at a surgery center regarding scarring on her face, according to the suit.

The parents claim the defendant was negligent.

The parents are seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. They are represented by Todd A. Kirby and Lindsey C. Ashley.
