Wyoming County buyers allege Jeep has defects

CHARLESTON – A Wyoming County couple is alleges a vehicle they purchased more than two years ago has issues that have not been repaired by the dealer.

Charles Simpson and Crystal Simpson filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against FCA US LLC and Sheets Automotive Group LLC citing the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and other counts.

The suit states that the plaintiffs purchased a 2017 Grand Jeep Cherokee from Sheets in May 2017. They allege after purchase, the vehicle experienced issues and they took it to Sheets at least six times for repairs. They allege the defendants have failed to bring the vehicle into conformity with its warranties.

The plaintiffs are seeking to cancel the contract, damages, attorney fees and court costs. They are represented by Kristina Thomas Whiteaker of The Grubb Law Group PLLC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Judge Tera Salango.
