White Dodge alleged to owe more than $400,000 in delinquent property taxes

CHARLESTON – The Kanawha County sheriff has filed a suit against White Dodge alleging it owes the county more than $400,000 in delinquent taxes. 

Michael Rutherford, in his capacity as sheriff and ex officio treasurer of the County of Kanawha, filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against White Dodge Inc. alleging delinquent taxes. 

According to the complaint, as of Sept. 9, White Dodge owed the county $417,584.80 in property taxes for tax years 2014 through 2018. 

Rutherford seeks monetary relief of $417,584.80 plus post-judgment interest and other just relief. He is represented by Spencer Elliot of The Lewis Glasser Law Firm PLLC in Charleston. 

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
