HUNTINGTON – The estate of a West Virginia man is suing Cabell General Hospital claiming its negligence led to his development of pressure-related skin issues that contributed to his death.
Wilma Mills, as administratrix of the estate of Warren Mills, filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against Cabell Huntington Hospital Inc., doing business as Cabell Huntington Hospital, alleging negligence, ordinary negligence and reckless misconduct, and wrongful death.
The suit states Warren Mills was a patient at Cabell Huntington from Aug. 15 through Sept. 8, 2017. The plaintiff claims Mills suffered from pressure-related skin issues that aggravated his existing disease and physical impairments that resulted in serious injuries. Those injures, the plaintiff alleges, ultimately led to Mills' death.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to provide Warren Mills with adequate supervision and assessment to prevent him from developing pressure sores.
The plaintiff seeks monetary relief, a trial by jury and all other just relief. The plaintiff is represented by Jeff Stewart, Andrew Paternostro and S. Andrew Stonestreet of The Stewart Bell Law Firm PLLC in Charleston.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Christopher D. Chiles.
