CHARLESTON – The Dunbar Center nursing and rehab facility in Kanawha County is facing a wrongful death suit filed by the daughter of a former resident who alleges its negligence caused the resident's death.

Sharon Erby, as administratrix of the estate of Enda Robinson, filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Sunbridge Dunbar Health Care LLC doing business as Dunbar Center; and Genesis Healthcare LLC alleging negligence, reckless misconduct and wrongful death.

Erby alleges in her complaint that Robinson, who became a resident at the Dunbar Center facility on July 16, 2018, was not provided adequate supervision and safety. She claims that due to the facility's negligence, Robinson suffered from an infection that progressed and resulted in a pressure-related skin injury and death.

Erby seeks judgment against the defendants, a trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Jeff Stewart, Andrew Paternostro and S. Andrew Longstreet of Steward/Bell PC in Charleston.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joanna Tabit.
