WEST UNION — The owners of oil and gas interest for a Doddridge County property claim Antero Resources' pooling of a horizontal wellbore on their property violates their lease agreement.
Ruth Wells, Arlen Wells, Jr., and Nancy Inman filed a complaint in Doddridge Circuit Court against Antero Resources Corporation alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs own interest in the oil and gas beneath a property in Doddridge County with Antero being the "successor-in-interest of the lessee of the lease." The plaintiffs allege that on March 21, 2018 Antero filed a declaration of pooling for a horizontal wellbore with the Doddridge County Clerk's Office that passes directly through their property. They claim they never consented to allow their property to be in the pooling "buffered unit."
The plaintiffs seek monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Daniel McCune and S. David Wilharm of Rokisky, McCune, Wilharm & Blair PLLC in Weirton.
