Woman sues Wal-Mart after allegedly suffering broken hip from fall on wet floor

CLARKSBURG — A woman is suing Wal-Mart after she suffered a broken hip after allegedly slipping on a wet floor at its Clarksburg store. 

Lois Titchnell filed a complaint in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia Clarksburg Division against Wal-Mart Stores East LP alleging negligence.

Tichnell was shopping at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Clarksburg on Jan. 30, 2019. She alleges that while trying to get a shopping cart near the entrance to the store, she slipped on the wet floor and suffered a broken hip and other injuries. Tichnell claims Wal-Mart failed to maintain a safe condition at the store which caused her to suffer injury and required medical surgical treatment. 

Tichnell seeks monetary damagesf, trial by jury, interest and all other proper relief. She is represented by Dino Colombo and Kala Sowers of Colombo Law in Morgantown.
