WINFIELD – A Colorado-based contractor has filed a nearly $2 million breach of contract suit against a Putnam County-based storage facility and others.

Belfor USA Group Inc. filed its complaint in Putnam Circuit Court against Central Holdings LLC, Central Van & Storage of Charleston Inc., lien holder MVB Bank Inc. and trustees Larry F. Mazza  and Brian D. Gallagher.

According to the complaint, Central Van experienced a major fire July 11, 2018, at its storage facility at Rock Branch Industrial Park located just off Charleston Road in Poca. The fire destroyed or damaged property of about 100 customers. Central Van hired Belfor to provide property restoration services to address the fire damage.

Over 13 months, Balfor says it performed nearly $3.5 million in work. But, it says Central Van still owes $1,992,668.

Balfor seeks that amount plus interest, attorney fees, court costs and other relief.

It is being represented by W. Bradley Sorrells of Robinson & McElwee in Charleston.
