WEST VIRGINIA SUPREME COURT OF APPEALS: Supreme Court Makes Recordings of Oral Arguments Available for First Time

West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals issued the following announcement on May 27.

Video recordings of oral arguments at the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia are being made available online, for the first time ever. West Virginia became one of the first six state Supreme Courts to provide live internet streaming of Supreme Court arguments when it began doing so in 2011. In 2016 the Court began working with West Virginia Public Broadcasting to provide live broadcasts of oral arguments on the West Virginia Channel and YouTube. “This is the next step in making the West Virginia Judiciary more accessible to the public,” said Supreme Court Chief Justice Tim Armstead. The Court has been working toward making these recordings available for about a year, at the suggestion of 2019 Chief Justice Beth Walker.
