CHARLESTON – A Charleston man says a new 2018 Chevrolet Silverado he purchased is a lemon.
Ronnie D. Harper filed his complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against General Motors LLC.
According to his complaint, Harper purchased the truck Oct. 26,, 2018, for more than $45,000. He says he has experienced serious non-conformities with the vehicle, including but not limited to vibrations. He says ineffective repair attempts has rendered the truck substantially impaired, unable to be used as intended and worth far less than bargained for.
He says he took it to authorized warranty repair facilities three times shortly after purchase. He says additional attempts also were made to repair the issues, but it still isn’t fixed.
Harper says GM has violated the West Virginia New Motor Vehicle Warranties Law and the Magnuson-Moss (FTC) Warranty Improvement Act.
He seeks compensatory damages for money or value lost, court costs, attorney fees and other relief. He also seeks punitive damages, pre- and post-judgment interest.
Harper is being represented by Christina Gill Roseman of Roseman Law Firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tera Salango.
