CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County woman says she fell on a wet floor at the Kroger in Cross Lanes.
Becky Jo and Daryl Hoffman filed a complaint against The Kroger Co. in Kanawha Circuit Court.
According to the complaint, Becky Jo Hoffman was shopping at the store in July 2018 when she fell on a wet area caused by an improperly maintained drink cooler near the registers. She says she landed on her head and back area.
She says she has suffered permanent injuries, and she says she has incurred expenses for medicine, therapy, medical attention and hospitalization. She also says she has suffered a loss of enjoyment of life. Her husband says he has lost the support, services and companionship of his wife.
They seek compensatory damages plus court costs and other relief.
The Hoffmans are being represented by Shannon Bland of Bland & Bland in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
