CHARLESTON — A man is accusing Ford Motor Company of selling him a vehicle and then refusing to conform to its warranties.

Michael Ryan purchased a 2018 Ford F-150 from Todd Judy Ford of Charleston on Jan. 7, 2019, and afterward, discovered non-conformities with the vehicle, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Ryan claims he took the vehicle back to Todd Judy Ford multiple times for repair and they failed and refused to fix the vehicle or provide him with a comparable replacement or reimburse him for the defective vehicle.

The defendant violated the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and other state laws regarding liability, according to the complaint.

Ryan is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is represented by Charles M. Love IV of the Love Law Firm in Charleston.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Joanna Tabit.
