CHARLESTON — A woman says Home Depot allowed dirty water to pool on the floor at its Charleston store and caused her to be injured.

Margaret Barlow filed the lawsuit against Home Depot after she slipped on dirty water on the bathroom floor at the Charleston Home Depot when she was lawfully on the premises, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Barlow was in the bathroom on April 24, 2019, when she slipped on the water on the floor and was seriously injured. Barlow claims that an employee negligently, carelessly, wrongfully and unlawfully allowed the floor to remain wet and unsafe, which was dangerous and caused her injuries.

Barlow claims the defendant's conduct was a nuisance and caused her to be injured and sustain damages.

Barlow is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interests. She is represented by Charles M. Love IV of The Love Law Firm in Charleston.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Louis Bloom.
