CHARLESTON — A Kanawha County woman is suing West Virginia Inspection Company, Real Estate Central and five individuals for breaching a real estate contract for sale.

Heidi Liebegott filed the lawsuit against the two companies and Kathleen McCallister Caldwell, Devin R. Brightwell, Larry Perkins, Chris Carter and Tonya Dunnavant alleging that she entered into an agreement to purchase real estate in St. Albans from them in 2016, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Liebegott claims the sellers failed to disclose that the front addition to the house was experiencing significant movement and slipping away from the house, among several other defects that were discovered after the closing on the property occurred.

The plaintiff discovered the defects in the property when she put the property up for sale in 2019 and an inspection was performed by potential buyers. She claims the serious defects were never disclosed to her previously, according to the suit.

Liebegott is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is represented by Marvin W. Masters and Roger A. Decanio of The Masters Law Firm in Charleston.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
