MOUNDSVILLE — A man is suing his former employer and supervisor, claiming he was retaliated against and his employment was wrongfully terminated.

Coty Lantz was employed by Williams WPC - 1 LLC and Lee Dawson was his supervisor during his employment as a lead operator between 2012 and 2021, according to a complaint filed in Marshall Circuit Court.

Lantz claims Dawson pressured him to pass Operational Technician employees on their progressions and tasks before they were ready to do so and Lantz refused to do so, Dawson would chastise and criticize him for failing to follow those directions.

The plaintiff's employment was terminated on Jan. 6, and he claims it was because he would not sign off on passing operational technician employees before they were ready to do so. He claims from the time he was hired until his termination he had always received favorable job evaluations and commendations for his hard work.

Lantz is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is represented by David L. Delk Jr. of Grove, Homstrand, & Delk in Wheeling.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Jeff Cramer.
