FAYETTEVILLE — A woman is suing Mills Automotive Group alleging that a vehicle she purchased was unsafe to drive.

Mills is doing business as Crossroads Chevrolet.

Emilee Hicks purchased a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu from the defendant and was not provided with copies of the purchase agreement, so she was not able to review the numbers on the finance agreement before signing and it was not until the following day that she discovered she had been charged for a $3,400 service contract she had not agreed to, according to a complaint filed in Fayette Circuit Court.

Hicks claims she also was misinformed about the vehicle's history. She discovered the vehicle had structural damages and was unsafe to drive later.

The plaintiff alleges that the defendant violated the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act.

Hicks is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is represented by Christina Gill Roseman Roseman Law Firm.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Paul Blake.
