PINEVILLE — A man is suing General Motors alleging a vehicle he purchased was defective.
Jackie Grimmett purchased a new 2020 1500 Chevy Silverado on Feb. 7, 2020, that had had a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty on it, as well as a five-year or 100,000-mile powertrain warranty as well as several other warranties, according to a complaint filed in Wyoming Circuit Court.
Grimmett took the vehicle to Thornhill Superstore two weeks later for a turbo problem and the vehicle was kept there for approximately one month. He took the vehicle in again on April 4, 2020, because the engine light was on and a converter needed to be replaced and they again had the vehicle for approximately one month.
In October, Grimmett returned the vehicle a third time for converter issues and the catalytic converter needed to be replaced and they kept the vehicle again for about a month. He claims the vehicle has had multiple transmission and converter issues and the defendant has failed to repair the vehicle.
Grimmett is seeking compensatory damages, as well as damages for inconvenience and he wants to be refunded for the vehicle. He is represented by David Thompson in Pineville.
